The Knights of Columbus
Msgr. E.J. McCormick Council 521

 - News -

Council 521 and the Christian Service Commission would like to thank those individuals who attended our Ash Wednesday Lenten Pancake Supper. Proceeds from your free will offering are being forwarded to the St. Vincent DePaul Society. A special thank you goes to those individuals who volunteered their time in setting up, cooking and clean-up. Look for this important fundraiser to continue next year.

We would also like to thank those individuals who expressed interest in joining the Knights as a result of our recent membership drives at St. Joseph’s and St. Stephen’s. We look forward to welcoming these candidates to membership in the Knights of Columbus. For those who missed the recent membership drives and may be interested in becoming a Knight, please contact Dan Kenny at 810-966-0928. The K of C is an outstanding catholic fraternal organization that emphasizes charitable works, support of the less fortunate and plays an active role within the church and parish functions

Each month the council selects a "Family Of The Month" and a "Knight Of The Month". The selection process is based upon community service and support of the council. For the month of January, the Pat Smith family was selected as Family of the Month. Pat serves as Treasurer of Council 521, regularly attends two meetings each month and played a key role in the completion of the Knight’s recent State audit. Dick Wyllie was selected as Knight of the Month for his work, investigation, member location and legal research related to Council 521’s Columbian Holding Corporation. In addition to attending regular business and officers meetings each month, Dick also serves as the President of the Columbian Holding Corporation. Thanks again to both Pat and Dick for their continued service and dedication to the Cluster and Council 521.

Our next General Business Meeting is Tuesday, March 6 th at 7:30PM in the basement of the convent. As always, members of Council 521 are welcome and encouraged to attend.
